African awards 2007





Cameroon's Samuel Eto'o and Ghana's Abedi Pele Ayew hold their awards after being named among the top ten African soccer players in the last 50 years of African football in Lome February 1, 2008.

Mali's Frederick Kanoute receives his 2007 African Footballer of the Year award from Togo's Prime Minister Komlan Mally in Lome February 1, 2008. Kanoute won the award on Friday, the Confederation of African Football (CAF) announced. The Sevilla forward is the first European-born player to win the award after beating off competition from Ivory Coast captain Didier Drogba and Michael Essien of Ghana.
