L'Afrique du Sud est championne du Monde de Rugby.

C'est énorme et c'est parfaitement mérité. La meilleure équipe du monde, la plus complète (en attaque et en défense), la seule qui a gagné tous ses matchs, le sort ne pouvait pas lui être défavorable.

Je suis extrêmement heureux de cette victoire. J'avais parié, il y a plus de 2 mois, sur une victoire finale des boks contre les All Blacks. Ce fut l'Angleterre en finale, mais le champion est bel et bien "Amabhokobhoko".

Il faut maintenant conforter cette equipe et la mettre en position de défendre son titre en Nouvelle-Zelande dans quatre ans, comme les Anglais ont essayé de défendre leur titre cette année.

AFCON 2008 - CAN 2008

Barcelona have asked Cameroon striker Samuel Eto'o and Ivory Coast midfielder Yaya Toure not to represent their countries at the African Cup of Nations (AFCON) in Ghana in January.

"I don't know if they will go and I hope they don't but we cannot force them," Barca sports director Txiki Begiristain told Spanish radio station RAC1.
"For Eto'o it would be a strange year. Injury, recovery and then international duty. I asked Toure before we signed him. Ronaldinho did not go to the Copa America (in June) and it was a brave decision. But I understand how important they are for their countries."

Eto'o, the three-time African Player of the Year, has been sidelined since the beginning of September after undergoing surgery on a thigh injury. Toure, who is also out with a thigh injury, joined Barca from Monaco in June. Ronaldinho, along with AC Milan's Kaka, both asked to be left out of Dunga's Brazil squad for the Copa America in Venezuela in June, saying they needed a break from playing. The CAN (Coupe d'Afrique des Nations) runs from January 20 to February 10.

Six pays, dont la République Democratique du Congo, entreront en lice directement au second et dernier tour. La Confédération africaine de football (CAF) a rendu public la liste des 22 nations retenues pour les éliminatoires de la 6ème Coupe d’Afrique des Nations, Guinée Equatoriale 2008. Six pays, dont la RDC, entreront en lice directement au second et dernier tour, indiquent les informations livrées par la CAF.

16 équipes vont s’affronter au premier tour entre le 30 Novembre, 01, 02 Décembre 2007 pour le match aller et le retour est programme entre le 14, 15, 16 Décembre 2007.

Il y a lieu de noter que lors de la dernière édition, la RDC n’est pas arrivée en finale éliminée par le Ghana au Stade de Martyrs de Kinshasa. Pour l’heure, la Fecofa (Fédération Congolaise de Football) ne s’est pas encore penchée sur 4 la préparation de cette compétition. Pourtant, plus d’une fois on n’a déploré le manque de sérieux dans la sélection des joueuses et dans la désignation du staff technique. Cette fois-ci, on croit savoir que la Fecofa désignera un entraîneur qui connaît bien le football féminin et entraîne au moins une de ces équipes au championnat local.

Sont exempts du premier tour: Afrique du Sud, Cameroun, Ghana, Mali, Nigeria, RD Congo. Pour le second tour, le vainqueur du match Burundi- Congo Brazzaville, sera oppose à la RDC.

South Africa: ACT 'Warriors' lose Telkom battle

Ajax Cape Town lost out 0-1 in a Telkom Knockout battle with Free State Stars at Athlone Stadium on Thursday night.


The hosts Ajax were unlucky to concede from what looked like a miscommunication at the back, as Stars player Dhladhla latched onto a rebound and slotted the ball past Ajax's goalkeeper Hans Vonk.

Ajax escaped a few anxious moments in the first half, but returned a more determined side after the break.

The 'Urban Warriors' were always a threat in the air but defender Edurdo Fereira was unlucky not get a touch to team-mate Russell Mwafulirwa's put down in the 52nd minute.

Stars' goal came in the 57th minute and the visitors threatened to stretch their lead further but failed to beat the reliable Vonk in the Ajax goals.

An anxious moment followed as Ajax striker Mwafulirwa miss-kicked in the box after Nathan Paulse beat Stars 'keeper Kennedy Mwene to the ball in the 66th minute, but the self-same Paulse slipt after collecting Mwafulirwa's unfortunate strike.

Ajax continued to serge forward but Mwafulrwa failed to keep his shot down in the 68th minute, while Bryce 'Scooter' Moon was unable to pick up the scraps after 'keeper Mwene failed to collect the ball yet again.

In stoppage-time after doing all the hard work to compose himself in the box, Moon hit the cross-bar with a fierce shot and Stars escaped with the win and join Mamelodi Sundowns, Kaizer Chiefs, Bloemfontein Celtic, Benoni Premier United in the quarter-finals of the Telkom KO.

Anyway, I still support Ajax Cape Town. Hope for the best in the PSL.
